As I was
reviewing my blog, my mind was searching and trying to formulate a topic to be
posted later.
As I was trying
to proofread one of my posts, a thought came to me, “Why not ask help from my
Mama in correcting some of my notes, the grammar specifically”. Yeah! I’m not
confident with my grammar, so what coconut! Then a lightbulb turned on, “Why
not write something for her and later ask her to help me edit these write- ups
without her knowing that there’s something written for her?”.
Surprise,
surprise!
To the woman I
adore…
“A mother is the truest friend we have, when
trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of
prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will
she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate
the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
This post is my
short letter to you, Ma.
Dearest Mother,
A
mother is someone who symbolizes sacrifice, struggles, compassion and
unconditional love. SACRIFICE- our
needs are always put first than yours. You work and tire yourself just to
provide for us and with that, we, your children are eternally grateful. STRUGGLES- in raising us, you
encountered many challenges and problems, financially, mentally and
emotionally. Ma, I know now, how and what you felt when you were raising me and
Chongki. The struggle is real! Being a mother is also about understanding and
patience. “Hindi biro and maging isang ina”! I truly appreciate your hardships.
COMPASSION- even though raising and
enforcing discipline on us were a challenge to you, your determination in
guiding us never withered. We grew up being God- fearing and loving. We may be
naughty at times, but I do value all those you said to me. (I don’t know with
Bo hahaha!). But don’t you worry Ma, you may not notice, but whenever Bo and I
are alone downstairs and are in sane minds, we talk. Just like last time, we
were talking about our future plans. DON’T WORRY MA! WE HAVE PLANS! (hahahaha)
We may not be vocal about those, but we’re sure we will try to reach them
(Secret na namin ‘yun) and you and Papa are in those plans. LOVE- a mother always loves unconditionally.
You did everything for us and you never asked for returns. In God’s perfect
time, we’ll give back.
We
may not be vocal about these stuffs, but we recognize all your works and
sweats. It’s true what most women say, “During the labor stage of pregnancy, a
woman never calls her father’s name for her to feel comfort amidst the pain,
she cries and calls her mother, for in calling her mother, she finds peace and
relief”. That was what I did when I was in labor, go ask the nurses. They were
rolling their eyes when I was crying hahahahaha! Missing you always Ma. Even though
we are just kilometers apart. Love you Ma. God bless!
Love lots,
SHAN J
“In a child's eyes, a mother is a goddess. She can be glorious or terrible, benevolent or filled with wrath, but she commands love either way. I am convinced that this is the greatest power in the universe.”
